Pink "Barbie" Party
This project has been an absolute blast to work on! Introducing the Pink Party—an annual party brought to you by Two Lions Productions, setting the stage for a kickoff to Pride weekend in NYC. And guess what? This year, we're diving into the Barbie universe *surprise, surprise*
So, what's the scoop? We want you to unleash your inner Barbie, Ken, or whatever fabulous persona you've got up your sleeve at this fantastic shindig!
Typography
Channeling Barbie's iconic poster typography was a must. After a deep dive into the depths of the internet, I stumbled upon Bartex, which happens to be the closest match to that signature font. With the font locked in, it was logo-creating time for this year's party.
For captions and subheadings, Neue Kabel seemed to be the perfect fit, mirroring the slanted 'e' from the poster's subheading. It's all about the details, right?
Logo
Simple yet elegant was the motto. So, I went ahead and turned the font itself into the logo. Trust me, it's uber cute and has impeccable kerning. Now, let's talk style.
At first, I rolled out a relatively flat logo with a touch of drop shadow magic. Twin Ps mirrored each other, cradling the party name within a 'P'-shaped embrace.
Then came the 3D evolution, where the logo donned a plastic-like texture, resembling the real deal. The full party name was stacked vertically, creating a captivating 3D effect.
In the grand finale of logo tinkering, we simplified things even further by dropping one 'P' and enlarging the other—creating a harmonious balance that sings the party's name.
Ever wondered what Barbie's life inside that transparent box feels like? We channeled that vibe, incorporating plastic-like textures into our graphics. And for a dash of ethereal magic, I sourced an iridescent plastic texture from Adobe Stock.
Color Palette Drawing hues straight from the poster, we painted the entire event design with its vibrant color palette. Get ready to be surrounded by the essence of Barbie!
